Let’s make big, fluffy throw blankets from a giant ball of roving. In this three hour workshop, fiber artist Sarah Eichhorn will teach us how to knit with our arms as needles. We’ll cover how to work with wool roving, the basic knitting process and how to start (cast on) and end (bind off) your throw blanket. This is a fun, but focused workshop designed for you to finish your blanket in class.
We searched long and hard to find a natural, high quality and soft source of roving made in the USA. This project takes a ton of roving for one blanket so material costs are a lot higher than our typical creative workshops. The size of your blanket will depend on the size of your arms and how large you knit your stitches (your gauge) but generally, an 8lb ball will create a throw blanket around 54″ x 66.”
REGISTRATION ENDS November 6 or sooner if it sells out. This is a hard deadline as we need to have enough time to order all of our roving.
